Maryland Wear & Carry (Extension Training)
Completes Maryland’s Wear & Carry permit training requirement when paired with our Delaware course.
$150 | 8 Hours (Extension)
This course is the Maryland Wear & Carry extension to our Delaware Concealed Carry course. Maryland requires 16 hours of training for original Wear & Carry permit applications. The Delaware course satisfies the first 8 hours, and this extension completes the remaining Maryland-specific instruction and qualification.
This course is intended for students who have already completed our Delaware course and wish to apply for a Maryland Wear & Carry Permit.
Course Structure
This is a single-day extension course consisting of classroom instruction and live-fire qualification. Courses are held at Alex Acres Rifle & Pistol Range in Galena, MD.
Training Includes:
Maryland firearm law and use-of-force considerations
Maryland Wear & Carry application process
Scenario-based discussion and instruction
Live-fire qualification in accordance with Maryland standards
Maryland Wear & Carry Renewal Training
This same training day also satisfies the 8-hour renewal requirement for Maryland Wear & Carry permit holders. Renewal applicants attend the same class session and complete the required refresher instruction and live-fire qualification.
Eligibility
Students must have completed the Delaware Concealed Carry Course with First State Firearms Training
Applicants for a Maryland Wear & Carry Permit must be 21+
Active duty military and honorably discharged veterans are exempt from Maryland’s training requirement. See our FAQ for details before registering.
Multi-State Training Context
This Maryland course is offered as an extension to Delaware training and is not typically offered as a standalone class. If you have not yet completed the Delaware course, start there first.
New Jersey Permit to Carry
NJ-specific instruction may be added to this training day when applicable, or scheduled separately as private instruction.

At least two (2) magazines
100 rounds of ammunition
Eye & hearing protection
Rental packages are available at checkout for those who don’t have their own firearm. Those opting for the NJ Add-On should bring an additional 50 rounds of ammunition and a quality belt mounted holster.
